About this digital archive

Homecoming Scotland 2009 was a Scottish Government initiative which marked the 250th anniversary of Robert Burns through a year-long celebration of all things Scottish including golf, whisky, great minds & innovation and culture & heritage. People of Scottish descent (at home or abroad) and those with an interest in Scotland were invited to come home and join in the celebrations.   The EKOS report relating to Homecoming can be accessed here.

The archive contains a fantastic range of objects and marketing material, including promotional products and interviews with key players including Bob McDowell, Vice-President of Microsoft; Lord Jack McConnell, former First Minister and current First Minister, Alex Salmond. We would also like to give you the opportunity to upload your memories, videos and photographs, therefore giving as broad a retelling of Homecoming Scotland 2009 as possible. A travelling exhibition will take place in Scottish venues during Summer and Autumn 2011 which will give you a chance to delve further into the archive.
